Made from the same fruit as the winery's top wine Spring Mountain, albeit without the addition of pressed juice. Maturation in second- and third-use French oak barrels – consequently, Tanbark Hill is less oak-influenced with gentler, sweeter tannins. It boasts just as much depth and finesse as the 'grand vin' but is more approachable at a young age.

Deep-coloured appearance. Juicy ripe berries, herbs, and fine, sweet fruit. Wonderful linearity and velvety concentration on the palate. The wine's exceptional balance is particularly underscored by a compact and precise mid-palate. Complex berry and cedar notes on the finish. Sit back and enjoy.

Sourced at an altitude of almost 700 metres above sea level, from a vineyard planted in 1981 on the slopes of Spring Mountain just beyond the town of St. Helena. The soils are of volcanic origin.
